PUBLICATION: The Presbyterian Historical Society of Ireland have some copies of ‘Frederick – the Life of My Missionary Grandfather in Manchuria’ by Mark O’Neill. The Rev FWS O’Neill, an Irish Presbyterian Missionary served in Faku, a small town in Manchuria from 1897 to 1942 and witnessed many of the great events that convulsed China including the Boxer Rising, the overthow of the Qing Dynasty and the Japanese invasion of Manchuria. He also served with the Chinese Labour Corps in France in World War 1 for which he was awarded the Order of the Striped Tiger by the Chinese government. (Cost £16.00 plus postage of £2.00 within the UK)

Visiting Us
By car: Parking in the vicinity is free but there is a shortage of spaces during the business day.
By rail: Botanic Station on Botanic Avenue is a quarter of a mile from College Green.
By bus: From the City Centre in Howard Street take the Metro 7A or 7B bus and alight
at the College Green stop on University Avenue.

There is still work to be done to make proper provision for the preservation of the archives and library books. We are very grateful to those who have already given generous donations for the move to the new premises but we are appealing for more financial help in this unique situation. If you feel you can make a donation it should be forwarded to the Librarian at the Presbyterian Historical Society, 26 College Green, Belfast, BT7 1LN.
