Publications

Publication of books and pamphlets from time to time is an important part of the work of the Society. For example, the year 2002 saw the publication of a festschrift of essays in honour of the Very Rev Dr Finlay Holmes who has served Christ and the Presbyterian Church in Ireland over many years. Volume 26 of the Society's Bulletin contained articles on "The Church in Celtic Ireland: its life and legacy" by R Buick Knox; "Presbyterians and the confessional state: the Sacrament Test as an issue in Irish politics, 1704-1780" by D W Hayton; and "To introduce Rev Mr Patterson: Henry Cooke restates his case (1829) to James Young of Ballymena" by Eull Dunlop. This issue of the Bulletin also contained book reviews and a select list of writings relating to Presbyterianism in 1996.

The following publications are available for sale at the Society's Office, Church House, Fisherwick Place, Belfast, BT1 6DW, Northern Ireland (Telephone: 028 9032 2284). Alternatively, books may be purchased by post, by writing to the Librarian, Valerie Adams, at the above address. The cost of postage and packing is additional.
